Achilles tendinitis Disease

Achilles tendinitis is inflammation of the Achilles (uh-KIL-eez) tendon, the band of tissue that connects calf muscles at the rear of the lower leg to your heel bone.

Achilles tendinitis is usually a running injury or different sport-related injury ensuing from overuse, intense exercise, jumping, or different activities that strain the tendon and calf muscles.

Most cases of Achilles tendinitis may be treated with persistent, comparatively easy, at-home care below your doctor's supervision. Self-care methods are typically necessary to forestall recurring episodes.

Additional serious cases of Achilles tendinitis will cause tendon tears (ruptures) and will need surgery to repair broken tissues.
