Symptoms of Acanthosis Nigricans



Characteristics of acanthosis nigricans include:

 
Skin changes. Skin changes are the sole signs of acanthosis nigricans. you may notice dark, thick, velvety skin in body folds and creases — usually in your armpits, groin and neck. generally the lips, palms or soles of the feet are affected moreover.
   

Slow progression. The skin changes seem slowly, generally over months or years.
doable itching. Rarely, the affected areas might itch.

 
When to ascertain a doctor
Consult your doctor if you notice changes in your skin — particularly if the changes seem suddenly. you will have an underlying condition that wants treatment.
