Symptoms of Actinic keratosis

The signs and symptoms of an actinic keratosis include:

• Rough, dry or scaly patch of skin, typically but one in. (2.5 centimeters) in diameter
• Flat to slightly raised patch or bump on the highest layer of skin
• In some cases, a hard, wart-like surface
• Color starting from pink to red to brown, or flesh-colored
• Itching or burning within the affected space

Actinic keratoses are found totally on areas exposed to the sun, together with your face, lips, ears, back of your hands, forearms, scalp and neck.

An actinic keratosis generally resolves on its own, however usually returns once more once further sun exposure. If simply scratched or picked off, an actinic keratosis can come back.
